James Bond passes on.

Scottish actor and producer, Sir Thomas Sean Connery popularly known as James Bond has passed on at the age of 90.

Sean Connery is popularly known as James Bond as he was the first man to play the role of 007.

Sean’s big break came in 1962 as he played the role of a secret British spy known as James Bond. In the movies his spy code was 007.


Sean Connery featured in seven James Bond movies with the first being Dr. No in 1962. He later played the role of  James Bond in other movies before retiring from the franchise.

Not only was Sir Sean Connery a great and talented actor, he was also a director and directed several movies. 

Throughout Sean’s career, he has featured in over 50 movies including, “Dr. No in 1962, From Russia with Love in 1963, Goldfinger in 1964, Thunderball in 1965, You Only live Twice in 1966, Diamonds are Forever in 1971 and Never Say Never Again in 1983. Sean played the character of 007 James Bond in all seven movies.

All seven movies were a global success and earned Sean several nominations and awards. In 1987, Sean won  two Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor and Best Actor in The Untouchables and The Name of the Rose respectively.

Although Sean later quit the 007 franchise, he is still known as the man to initiate the 007 movement. His career spun over five decades and he featured in over 50 movies.

Sean sadly passed away few hours ago today at Nassau in the Bahamas at the age of  90. He died in his sleep.

Goodbye to a father, mentor, motivation, inspiration and a man with a beautiful personality.
