Our leaders are silent because they read the same manual - Kwesi Arthur speaks out.

Ghanaian hip pop artiste Kwesi Arthur has added his voice to the ongoing brutality happening in Nigeria.

Nigeria is currently battling police brutality and an end to SARS. SARS an acronym which stands for Special Anti Robbery Service is a police unit in Nigeria who over the years have suppressed Nigerian youths for shallow reasons such as holding an iPhone, riding in an expensive car, having tattoos and even wearing good clothes.

Over the past few weeks, Nigerian youths have stood up to face both the SARS and SWAT for brutalizing them and an end to their reign of terror.

The Nigerian police and army have recently killed dozens of peaceful protesters and the government have turned a deaf ear to their cries. On Twitter, hashtags such as #EndSARSNow #EndSWATNow, EndPoliceBrutality have been created to channel the cries of the Nigerian youth to the entire world.

African leaders have been silent about the ongoing brutality and terror in Nigeria and this has made a lot of people question their competence.

Ghanaian rapper and BET nominee Kwesi Arthur has recently added his voice to this and has given reasons why African leaders are all silent about the ongoing brutality in Nigeria.

Posting via his official Twitter handle, the rapper stated that these leaders are silent because they are all the same caliber of people. He tweeted, “Our leaders are silent cos them all dey read the same manual”.

What do you think about Kwesi Arthur’s statement? Do you side with him or think otherwise?

Our prayers still remain with Nigeria and we pray reformation happens soon.
